Toying with what to do to break the gold up a bit more, was thinking of getting the side strips done gloss black, not to good at pshop but had ago... what you all think...

That looks much better imo. As you said, it breaks up the gold and the contrast it makes such a difference. Go for it

If you do the strips, you need to do the bumper tops and the grille.

Anyone whos a dab hand with pshop do the front bumper and rear with black then, i dont think it will look any good though will just look standard again

leave it gold,
do the 16v badges black
front citreon badge black
fuel cap black
smoked rear lights and side repeaters
also get rid of the plates, the blue GB section looks wrong with the gold

if you do the strips, but leave the bumpers, it'll look half finished.
the splitter DEFINITELY needs doing, as it doesn't look right IMO, and I prefer them with black trim on the bumpers too, but I'm not gonna force you, it's not my car

can you do one of the front and back with the bit that is usually black but on mine its colour coded gloss black...
And if possible on the front image the grill aswell..

Turbo about the same i reckon, just the turbo had alot more torque..
Corsa 1.6 i hate to say is no real match at all..

i did think about getting 1 at one point, but my sister has a 1.4 saxo and it just feels a bit cheap, the door is heavy to push and pull open, you sit too far down and the interior is a bit poop.
though i cant speak for the vts as i have never been in one.
