Hello.
Have decided that I am bored of the current SRi spring set up on my car and that I'm going to get on and lower my C.
I want black lowering springs though - mainly to keep it subtle when it goes to Vaux for services etc so they don't void my warranty so quickly!!
Have been looking round and only found Eibach springs which seem to go for about £125.
Are there any other cheaper versions out there. And I'm not spraying red ones black!!
Thanks

Dont know of any, but im sure Vauxhall can tell the difference between standard springs and lowered, just because there black im sure they will still know.

Correct but it isn't so obvious on 1st look
Am looking at a fairly small drop anyway - 30mm at maximum tbh.
Dave if you could let me know a price that would be great What make springs would you be giving me a price on?

Don't say things like that
It's too tempting - then I will end up doing it and then being raped by Vaux!
Jamex ones are -40 arent they? Keeping standard SXi rims atm so -30 is gonna be maximum drop to avoid it looking really stupid

Does it matter for the warranty? Like say you went in for something to do with the exhaust, can they refuse if you have it lowered? Never understood it.

yeah, they're -40, but you won't tell the difference between -30s and -40s, look at pics of mine and jr's, you'd never tell.
it'll look fine -40 on the 15s

Robin - Hmmmmm. Will think again then Your's were about £60 yeh? Ride quality ok with standard shocks etc? Will await Dave quoting me a price too.
Andy - No it will just void my suspension warranty as far as I'm aware. Exhaust one is already void technically as I have a 1.8 SRi backbox but its Vaux and subtle so hoping they won't notice. TBH, I'm just trying to play it safe and see what Vaux say in February when it goes in for its 1st £150 oil change

Why don't you just get the Irmscher springs? and secondly why go to Vauxhall for the servicing? An independant will do as good a job if not better, will be cheaper, and won't moan about your springs.

your warranty is only void for the area the modification affects, like if you lower it and your suspension arm falls off, snaps in 2 and runs away, it wont be covered, but everything else is.

Irmscher springs are £150+ iirc which just for springs is ridiculous imo.
Have to go to Vaux for servicing for warranty to remain valid Bit of a vicious circle

No you don't you can get it done anywhere as long as they use genuine parts or parts that are of OE quality.

Rich, mine were £65 from a seller on ebay, ride quality is good, firm, but not harsh, still soaks up the bumps well.
Irmscher springs are loads more, and in my experience of Eibach ones on my Konis, they weren't worth the extra IMO.

it wouldnt matter if you got black springs mate, the corsa c is the most popular car in our workshop (main dealer). When you been working on these cars for a while and know them inside out like most vauxhall technicians then they are going to notice if its lowered or not. all vaux springs have a very visible part number on too

Thanks for all the replies.
Joe - I beg to differ but we'll see.
Rob - May consider the Jamex ones then Still not sure if -40mm is still going to be too low though on my 15's - will end up sitting in too far
p3boy - Bugger It does only affect my suspension related warranty for definite though doesnt it - do you have to report back to somebody to inform them to invalidate my warranty or something?!

Beg to differ then but your a fool if you do, we service nearly new Vauxhalls all day long and warranty remains intact. They are'nt legally allowed to force you to get your car serviced there. I think i'd rather give a smaller garage around £80 than £150 to Vauxhall.

Rich, seriously, you'll not tell the difference between 30 and 40, and you'll be saving 100 quid.
Joe is correct too, infact, if you walk into vauxhall's service dept, they'll tell you that you can use other garages as long as they buy GM parts.
