Is insurance an issue? E34 M5, or even just a 540 with a V8, as they're both rapid machines. If you want something newer, look at an Mercedes Benz AMG C36 - they start at about 4500.

got to agree with the 540i comment, i had one and it was an absolute beast when moving, 290 bhp standard but figures were always way up on them heard of some putting over 330 standard (never rolling roaded mine but i used to say it was 330 if anybody asked cos i had heard of another standard one puting out that power the joys of being young )

every toy known to man but the only thing is that it always felt so much slower than the speed you were doing so always thought id lose my license in it,ended up fucking the engine before i ever had the chance but it was a great car

T5 is a great car is a straight line but try and turn quickly and it turns into a barge, and the estates are so good looking

never drove any of the others sadly

540's are great cars, they all look sleeper-ish too as many didnt have bodykits or anything, and the noise!!

C36/43 will be hard to find, and ive never seen one lower than £8k! VERY nice cars tho, good size, very practical and loadsa toys. I fancy one myself

Not what id call luxury, but colins suggestion is a good one, they are very pretty cars and at japfest were keeping up with most performance cars on the track!

I've seen loads a few C36s and one or two C43s for under £8k.

The words rover and turbo in the same sentence scare the living shit out of me... lol.. Forgot to add, I want it to be reasonably new, around 97 onwards..

Been doing insurance quotes and a T5-R estate is looking tempting..
