Pay the extra £4 per corner and get Uniroyals.
My experience of Toyos ended in 3k miles, never buying them again for a road car.

I've had the S's and the R's.
The S's were ace int eh dry, hot and sticky summer, crap in anything to do with winter.
The R's are more controllable, albeit more willing to step out, i can have my Astra sideways round a roundabout and pull it back with ease!

A539's are too harder of a compound. They are great in the summer, but when it comes to winter they are too tough, its easy to loose it with Yokie A539's.

I've just got 17.5k out of my front T1-R's think they are a very good tyre. Mine are 235/35/19. My dads are T1-S's in the same size and much prefer mine.

for the money the uniroyals are so much better than toyo's both r and s
the only tyres i would use again except them would be the egale F1 or michiellen (sp) exalto's but both are more expensive
but seems to be very much personal prefrence to tyres as some ppl love tyres others dnt, the uniroyal rainsports seemt o have a very large following really especially on here

Ive had both the T1's and T1'r. As people have said before they are superb in the dry, as soon as they touch water though they go all over the place. Ive got uniroyal rainsport on mine now, they do seem alot better, but they still slide abit in the wet (but i think thats down to my suspension settings more than anything)

I cant understand how the hell you get only 3/4k out of them. Must drive on the limit all the time.
