"The last remaining Briton to have seen active service in World War I and World War II has died aged 106.

Capt Ken Cummins served in the Royal Navy in the Great War and in the Merchant Navy 30 years later.

In World War II, his ship, the Viceroy of India, was hit by a torpedo off the coast of North Africa.

He died on December 10 at his home in Great Bedwyn, Wiltshire.

Dennis Goodwin, from the WWI Veterans' Association, said: 'Any death of a WWI vet means the end of a special generation, the likes of which we will never see again."

I thought this was worth a mention as without guys like this, we wouldn't be living the life we are today, you driving the cars you are, playing gamestations we are.. RIP fella, we thank you.

On another note, i watched some programe on the war last night and the German secret underground manufacturing plants. How we won the war, I don't know. They were leagues ahead. Some of their technology wouldn't go amiss today, let alone 50+ years ago... If you get a chance to watch it, its quite interesting. Some of these facilities were 600,000+ square metres.. Built the V2 rocket etc.

Next epidsode they are/were discovering Hitlers secret mountin house and the gold reserve unknow to be underneath it.

On Civilisation TV, REICH UNDERGROUND - The terror from below. 2nd part on tonight at 9pm.

And no, im not OJC, just some interesting stuff...

To be fair he was 106.

RIP.

RIP

People like this built modern society and gave a huge sacrifice to make sure the future was safe for us to all live the life of luxury we live today.

I salute you Sir, for you are a far greater man than most of us will ever be. We owe our lives, our parents lives and everything we have today to you.

Thank you

Get with the times, I've know about this stuff for years.

The Germans tested a nuclear device, all the details of which are in this book. I suggest you read it and learn yourself, we have been sold a story by our goverments that we won the war with ease and that the United States Goverment developed the first atomic device, clearly a lie.

As for the hero that died, I respect these men more than I respect myself.

Although if they could see the state of our country today, I doubt they would have bothered to fight.

RIP

I watched a ray mears programme the other week - heroes of telemark well good programme

'The Real Heroes of Telemark' tells the story of a World War II operation carried out by a few men with amazing survival skills. The small squad was parachuted into Norway, on a glacier, with basic equipment. They had for mission to prevent the Nazis from building an atomic bomb. This book recounts the sixty-year-old true story of these special heroes.

Get with the times IM sorry, i dont spend my evenings and weekends fires a pellet gun and running round in combats

It was an interesting program. You watched it?

Some of the V2 bunkers, although there were more interesting projects that really are quite scarey to think about.

No, you spend your weekends stoned

I have seen most of these programs, I live for these programs.

Look at the bunkers around Ohrdruf, these are of special intrest because the entrances were blown up and blocked off at the end of the war for reasons unknown, whats even more intresting is that all documents regarding Ohrdruf were classifed for 100 years from 1945 so won't be until 2045 before we know what went on in there.

Green isn't addictive as a drug, but the whole thign around it (rolling etc) and the fags you put in it are...

Its started to effect my memory, and i said the day it effected me was the time to give up. When 2 of you do it, it needs to be a mutual decision..

Hence the 31st will be my last day. Joint (boom boom) decision.

But I have smoked it daily since, errr, i was about 19, so time to move on i guess.. Plus i want to carry on with my career, use the money to do other things etc... Only smoke like 3-4 a day anyway,

That's quite alot.

It's the only thing I never got into ( )

I've got alot of mates who have done and/or still do it, one of them has been really affected by it lost sense of humour and is not very observant etc, the rest are fine it's strange as he was the one who gave it up about 2 years ago

Depends on the individual. It effects some, and doesn't others....

Government need to spend some money looking into it rather than the usual "brush in under the carpet" normal.

I think the Goverment is looking into it, its just current studies arent really useful because of how long the drug has been in heavy use among the masses (unlike alcohol).
