look at the second one down. Considering buying it as a project for a year or so. My current project is going to the scrapyard in the sky due to it "needing more welding than the forth rail bridge"
I have been after a decent b cheap for ages but i quite fancy a honda for some v tec power
Opinions on these?
What should i look out for when buying one etc?
Thanks
M.

those shape civics are prone to rust, around the rear arches/lower sills
the engine is not very powerful and may even not be a vtec, engine code may be a D15b2 which is dpfi, not hard to convert to mpfi, also v-tec is not as 'hard' or anything like that in the D series engines when compared the B series(vti, SiR etc).
You can however easily change to a D15z6(esi engine, 125bhp) which is arguably the best honda engine to turbo, stock block can take 200-215bhp

So is the rust just likely to be cosmetic? And what would be a ballpark figure for new rear quarters and new sills. Im guessing it will be a high figure seeing jap parts are expensive.
