thinking of having a decat fitted to my gsi, ive got a full scorpion cat back exhaust at the moment...
i know i will probably loose some low down torque but gain a bit higher up the rev range...
my bro got a decat put in on his punto gt, he got a noticable power increase and the sound was also noticably louder/rumbly!
so i was wondering how exactly will the sound and power be affected on my car with a de-cat??

When i had my new exhaust and de-cat on my old 1.4 it seemed to pull abit harder mid way through the rev range but nothing amazingly different.

hmmm interesting replies
i want to get rid of it is because my car is very low, and the cat is the only part which scrapes over bumps! but do not want the sound to turn Raspy/ high pitch whining!
what sort of gains on my engine would i notice c16xe gsi, which is in more or less standard form??
so far, correct me if im wrong, better mid to high end rev, maybe bit less low down torque, sound louder/rumbly and rev drop quicker on gear changes, is this good or bad??

You wont notice any difference on a standard engine. If you do it's psychological. Just a bit louder, that is all.
