how much oil should my v reg 1.4 take to completly fill the sump from empty and is 10w ok because 15w is for diesels is that correct?? cheers

Your manual should tell you the amount.

make sure you read it properly, feel like a rite twat filled her up to coolet level not engine oil level and sump bolt is stuck, so much for a simple top up

use 10-40 semi synthetic

3.5l of oil (when replacing filter to)

done that but stuck bout 5 and a bit of oil in and sump bolt is stuck, wont come out, need car for tmoro aswell

undo the sump bung and let the oil back out to the correct level

refilled it to a level of 3 liters and to it for a spin, loads of white smoke, so i thougt it m,ay be running rich, so i emptied it again and put in 2.5 litres still loads of whuite smoke, what the fook is goin on!!

white smoke = water aka coolant (headgasket fuked)

maybe, or could be a bit of condension in the exhasut, depends how bad

you need 3.5l of oil in - top up the level and check on the dip stick.

loads of white smoke, so head gastket is fucked, didnt see no mayo in car but uim guessing this is why my oil has been drank, how much for a head gasket??

8v or 16v, if 16v alot!

1) white smoke in this weather is nothing to worry about, unless its still doing it after 10 mins of driving, see loads of cars with white smoke pouring out the back.

2) just top up, leave for a while and check dipstick, if needed add more, if its ok, run it for a while, stop, leave for 10 mins, check dipstick level again and adjust as needed.

jeez, who would have thought people could make changing the oil such a difficult task lmao
