Went in to get them to check my rattle, they made me wait around for 2 hours even thought they said it would be 5 mins.

Basically, after loads of waiting around, and expalining to them why the numberplate on the car didn't match the one on the Network Q papers, they agreed to replace the steering rack, tighten the steering colum, and do the tracking.

Strange thing is, they had Corsa C steering racks in stock, on site

Still, at least I don't have to pay the £531 + VAT for the work to be done, and they are collecting the car and delivering it back, which is good service

Still slightly gutted though I wanted them to give me a bill for a stupid amount, then I could have had a new car

Got it under warranty? Thats pretty good. Racks are very common on Corsa C's. I don't think you can argue with the service there. What about the springs etc, not affected warranty?

Nope, they didn't even question it.

I would have said they were Irmscher ones anyway

I was just annoyed with the 2 hour wait, for someone to say 'yeah, rack needs doing'

Yeah, not the outcome I actually wanted, but I can't grumble, maybe it'll actually make the car drive well, and I won't hate it as much

I wanted a new car Colin.

If they'd said it was £900, I could have sold the Corsa anf got something 'better'.

My mate had a Corsa C SXi back in 2000 when they had just come out and he had three racks on his, they kept blaming it on his 17's in the end he got sick of the racks kept going he sold it.

Aparently very very common on C's mainly lowered ones

Yeah, I heard that Fad, it was doing it before, but it's worse since lowering.

Do you find the EPS causes power surges and causes the stero to fap about?

Be wary about Vauxhall getting fumnny about it being lowered if it happens again.

So how bads the rattle?

The rattle SOUNDED like a top mount had worn, but it was coming from the bottom of the steering column

The EPS pisses me off, as it seems to decide when it's going to be light, and when it's going to be heavy, randomly Never had the stereo play up though.

If it happens again, the car will be going.

I'm only keeping it til June anyway, when I've had it a year, so hopefully it'll be ok til then

It only did it on bumpy surfaces, like cobbled streets, or gravel carparks.

Oh, but the steering felt loose, like the wheel wasn't connected to the rack properly which I guess is the case.
