not entirely true, was way before then that harley earl was designing cars at buicks to change cars shape to cut through air etc after thinking about aerodynamics and the 1930s trend of streamlining. After that the corvette sr2. but i guess for a more mass produced car the road runner used it more. probably influenced by the earlier firebird series designed by Earl.
