A months wages for every year? Anywhere I know and including my work I am sure it is 1 weeks wages for every year is it not?? Never heard of a months wages per year.
Christ if it was a months wages here I want paid off...Been here 14 years...

Yep my work was banding about the possibilities of redundancies not long ago...and that was a months wages for every year worked...I have been here six years so would be in line for a decent payout...

Yeah some places do do 1 weeks which wouldn't be worth my while 
Most banks/insurance companies do the 1 month thing, its still cheaper than giving you a years wages though if you look at it that way.

We had some VR in my place earlier this year, was worth about £2k to me plus I wasn't allowed to be re-employed in the sector within 90 days, which kind of negated the £2k somewhat.

1 week per year worked is stat redundancy... any reuitable company will pay a shitload to mmake people redundant... provided u can get another job rredundancy is a goldmine hence why ollie is right in loving it

I got made redundant a few years ago got £10K. Had only been with the compnay 5 years

I knew I was joining the policeat the polint to so arranged it so the dates all joined up. Left my old work on Friday with £10K starteed with the police on tthe monday

Some managers at my place have taken vr packages and it is a month for every yr + a lump sum or on your pension.
some have walked away with over 100k due to 30 odd yrs service

do they have to have certain reason to make you redundant?
i mean say you worked somewhere for a year, and they just didnt like you, but didnt have a legal reason to sack you, couldnt they just make you redundant and give you a weeks pay?
