Me and the lass are going away 17th-21 January to New York.

Now I have an old passport 8 years old and I am pretty sure I only have to have my fingerprints taken etc when I get there and use the visa weive scheme.

But she has a brand new one, am I right it in thinking she will need a visa.

You have to give your finger prints and photo when going through US customs. I think this is regardless of what passport you have

I have just rang the US embassy, so for anyone that’s interested unless you have a criminal record and have a machine readable passport and a return ticket, it is currently the same visa wavier form on the plane

Though it will be changing at some point next year and will be £67.00 per person each time.

surely a family will just have a single charge?

£67 is a huge amount though, with the amount of tourists they get that will amount to billions a year probably!

The visa application fee is $100, regardless of whether the visa is issued or denied and regardless of the duration of the visa or entries required. and is per passanger.
