i fucking hate this shit

went to vauxhall to pick up a temp coolant sensor, went to leave and booted it. went into 2nd and nothing.

so i think its a new gearbox from vauxhall with 12 months warranty.

what am wanting to no is, is it a new gearbox or recon..

sure its the gearbox? not a driveshaft popped out or anything like that?

drive shaft popped out? then it wouldnt drive in any gears.

the box has only done 61k, it is the c16xe engine yeah

ok then, check the linkage hasnt slipped enough to not select all the gears before assuming the gerabox is fucked

the box from vauxhall is £500+vat customer price but i get it for trade. so i think it will be about £500

gutted not be cheaper pickin up an f16 box from a breakers or summit,vauxhall will give u a crazy price, lingard paid £40 for his,and never had any trouble.

yeah thought about that but what happens when it brakes again i have to fork out another £50-100.

what is the best gearbox i can use and am i rite in saying its a f15 i have at the moment.

F15CR should be fine, and you'll have one already.

just buy a new one for £30-40, and have it rebuilt for £150ish, like broster did, with my old one. his has coped for about a year with the abuse he (and other people) have given it.

or, just buy a cheap box, and another if/when it breaks.

mien still runs fone on an f13cr, whines and squeals like a cunt, but never misses a gear etc
so many basic rules of engine modding ignored on mine

it costs extra for the lsd, but i think i am just going to keep it off the road till after xmas and get a diff aswell.
