Does it make me old wanting one? 
it would be my daily car. waft to work in it. 2.5 v6 200bhp.
Full leather, climate control, heated seats etc 2001 cars are going for 5k 
MR2 would become a weekend car

They sound lovely.
My old man had one in a deep metallic red, full cream leather. that was a 2.5 V6, awesome machine

And interior bits and bobs like switches are mondy as well, but that shouldn't put you off 
IIRC they are AWD as well.

not awd - thats just the estate
they're a good all round car; dont expect performance miracles but they are good none the less and they're so comfy inside that you don't really want to thrash them (too much/too often)
I travelled down to Southampton and back in it with 3 other people and loads of lugage and we were comfy all the way

Not really, its the same to drive, looks like a Mondeo trying to be a Jag (IMO) and hasn't really got anything going for it over the Mondeo.
Mondeo is cheaper, by a big margin, so if you bought the Jag, you'd be asking yourself why you didnt save a few k, every day, I reckon.

My mate has one, the 2.5 v6. Its certianly a nice car to cruise along in to work and better than a Mondeo imo

My Uncle used to have one when they 1st came out. It was a nice car. And was good at wafting... bit cramped and feel cocooned inside but all jags are like that.

Robin you dont quite get it. Mondeo is not a nice looking car.
Jag is.
If i wanted a mondeo then id buy a 1.6
the V6 mondeo is more expensive to insure than the jag.

My Dad has one - pleasure to drive - if u can get one i wouldnt put u off - hes had it 2 years i think and never had a problem other than one of the bulbs going
