was out with my girlfriend and her mate, a lad who owes a family member of mine some money come up to me and started going on about that he isnt going to pay up. I said its nothing to do with me but ill call him and get him to come to where i were if he wanted to speak about it. I then turned my back to speak to my girlfriend and he hit me , so we are fighting and i was getting the better of him , untill 3 mates come across of his and all started fighting , one of the lads cracked my girlfriends mate and then bouncers who luckily i know well dragged them off, the owner of the bar who i also know told me to stand at other end of bar. So my girlfriend and her mate are crying, then i hear a smash, as i turn this cunt smashed a bottle and glassed me , so not blood is pissing from my neck and i mean bad , i had to take my jumper off and push it on my neck . They run off.
in hospital til 5am them gluing it up , so my neck and face are cut quite bad. also as i had the first lad pinned up punching him and wouldnt let go his mate bit my back taking a chunk out of my back  so i had to have an injection .
I give a statement but have to go down at 6pm tonight to police. Now how do i go about pressing charges?
Will it be tricky due to me getting the better? can i say self defence?
Also the fact him glassing me he should surly get fucked for?

your totally in the right, it was an unprovoked attack from behind and they deserve the book thrown at them, aswell as this you are entitled to money from the governement as they have a compensation scheme for this sort of thing

its on cctv. police have it . i got the lads name and give it them . only thing i am worried about it the start of it as i am fairly certain they will say its more than self defence

i got compensation awarded this year, had a bit of a scuffle but nothin major. then the guy and his mates came after me at the end of the night and i got kicked in the face. got £250

yes but they tried pulling me off him , they was definatly wanting to fight , just dont think they though i would react like i did. But i personally dont think i did anything wrong . end of day i was out for a quiet drink with my girlfriend, he was out with a bunch of lads. he started on me , he lost so his friends all joined in , they won. then he glassed me .
what do i say to the police tonight?

Mate of mine had his jaw broken in a fight, also unprovoked and he got £2k. The guy who hit him got community service I think. All over a stolen mobile my mate was meant to have nicked, which later proved to be a false accusation.

Self defenece or not, he's in the wrong. When it was all finished with and u was told to go to the end of the bar by the owner he glassed you. Thats an unlawful act and cannot be defended. Sounds like he's f*cked.
