My mates got a Fli Sub with the built in amp jobbies and after an hour it cuts. so he takes headunit out for 5 mins and then puts it back in and it works again Could it be that his battery is running low? as his car seems to have a flat battery sometimes and needs jump starting. its a corsa C if thats any help.

The boxes are poorly made. If you take the amp out you will find its covered in MDF dust that has fallen from the rounded roof of the box on to the amp.
It became a weekly thing, taking the amp out and dusting it off that we just replaced it with a seperate amp to power the sub.

As CorsaGGH states, this is a common problem on these boxes.
The MDF dust gets all over the exposed PCB that is sat in the box and acts as an extra insulator along with the already poor cooling on these amps, there is no external heatsink!!
I ended up pulling apart the amp and screwing the temperature sensor to the outside of the amp on a screw next to the RCA leads, but this is risky.
My advice would be to get shot of it. I only had one because it cost me £50 and gave me some noise until I could get my kit back in there.
I cant drive with no choons
