ive noticed a few c20xe corsa's with bike carbs on them,

im just wondering if its possible to fit them to other engines, and if its worth it for the cost/gains in power,

i've got a x16xe and i know sum1 eith a smashed r1, now would they be compatable?

i know id have to get a manifold fabricated, but what places would be willing to do the conversion i.e. fitting setting up and managment, if i supplied manifold & carbs?

thanks for any help folks

IIRC, R1 ones would be too big for a 16XE, R6 ones are better.

Bogg Brothers in Yorkshire are the best bet, they'll supply a manifold to fit for £135 or something, and do the whole lot for about £750.

A recent Total Vauxhall had a guide in it, I'll see if I can dig it out, and I'll send it to you if I find it.

i think i have it, it has the orange nova saloon?

thats the guide that made me ask about the x16xe,

would the gains be worth the work?

it seems a hell of a lot cheaper than throttle bodies,

BTW dont listen to Bogg brothers advice when they telly you to run it on stancard ecu with the sensors unplugged

budget for some omex or lumenition ignition control.

what dave said.

I can not imagine for a minute the ignition timing would be anywhere near right with the std ecu

Why not do one better and put bike throttle bodies on it, thats the conversion i'm doing on my 106 rallye at the moment. Its not too complicated if you can weld, easy enough to fabricate own manifold. use megasquirt and spark ecu to run it all.
If you want the ecu, I can put you in touch with someone who supplies them fully build, with serial lead, software etc for around £280.
