Need some legal beagle advice....
I park down a road out of town that is residential and a big long straight road with no double yellow lines.
About 3 or 4 other people park there to, between the hours of 9-6pm. Now to my knolledge this is perfectly legal as there are no road double yellow lines, nor is it a special road thats private just a public highway.
Where we park is not obstructing driveways houses or anything, fences on either side of the road for the houses on the corner who arent even part of the street.
I came back to my car today with a note saying "This isnt a CAR PARK its a residential street"
Now in anger i threw the letter in the street (which i know i shouldnt of done) But is there any law im breaking? I dont think there is! I live in a similar street and we let people park down our road and dont leave them nasty letters, id preffer it if theyh didnt park there but its a free country and why complain?
Anyone shed any light on this

other than that though, unless the road says 'patrons only', 'private parking' or 'reserved', then no, you're not doing anything wrong.

If there is no sign prohibiting parking, no need to worry but just be careful that people might damage your car (i guess the paper was left by people living in this road)

Some people just really dont want you parking outside their houses
tbh it would probably annoy me if outside was filled up with cars belonging to people that didnt live here & my family/friends/me couldnt find a space.....but, you are doing nothing wrong at all!!! If you can live with a silly note/letter stuck to your window then just live with it....safe in the knowledge you are pissing someone off a whole lot more than they are you

Colin its not outside their house! Its a P shaped road, the houses are in the round bit, the straight bit is just a fence either side! No drives/houses etc

The way I look at it is it's the person who is putting shit on my car is the one doing the littering. Anything that gets put under my wipers immediately goes on the floor.

My car got keyed in Beaconsfield though. I parked outside somones house. My car was there once a week when I did a shift at work that didn't start at 5:30am so I couldn't park in the car park at work. So they just keyed my car the third time I parked there. Apparently you also own the road outside your house

I have to say, I've felt like leaving a note on cars before.
Our drive is at the side of our house, people often park right opposite it, and you can't actually reverse out when they do
bit of a pain, but nothing really we can do about it, and leaving notes is just pointless really

my car got keyed in the car park. Hence why i dont park there.
If they want to pay me £30 a week i wont park down their road

tell them you're planning on moving to the area, and wanted to check it out, see how parking was and stuff.

Tell them to fuck off and die. They are more than likely to be retired busy bodys who are bored as fuck at home so just go around thinking that because they are in a neighborhood watch area they are important.

yes like the prick who was doing 35 mph down our main road that is a 60, he started flashing his hazards because i was up his ass so i gave him a few flashs and a wave back
then he starts indicating to the left even though theres no junctions

Steve, he was probably indicating to make you pull over, like a citizens arrest.
I bet the person who left it is one of those nobs who sits under bridges in flourescent jackets noting down reg numbers of cars which look or sound like they're going fast

And ed im guessing they are all bored as fuck, they hand printed the notice on a pc, so they must have written it. Lame.
