I noticed a funny rattling coming from my centre box the other day. Heard it again when parking today so drove straight to Stapletons. I had the new standard middle and rear boxes fitted about 2500 miles ago. The middle was replaced under warranty after about 500 miles due to nackered mufflers.
Anyway, Staplestons are currently looking at my car. They said if it is the middle box gone again, it'll be replaced under warranty. They also said it might not be that, but the catalytic converter breaking down and ceramics in the pipe between cat and middle box. If this is the case, I'll need a new cat  (Car has covered 62,500 miles, W-reg).
Does this sound about the right time for a cat to go? Is it a ceramic one on my Corsa or doesn't it matter? How much am I looking at for a new catalytic converter?

i paid 170 for a cat for my Audi
when i had a corsa 1.4 16v i got a new cat foraround 120

Just picked the car up. Getting a new centre box tomorrow  (Haven't got any in stock today!)
