Decided to give up smoking again, its pretty much the last vice i have now Gave up weed etc back in Jan this year, only have the occasional drink on the weekend now instead of every day, and workin a lot harder at uni compared to last year, now its time to give up smoking and get fit
Two of my mates read this book by Allen Carr and both gave up straight away and havent wanted another fag since, so I just ordered it too and gonna give it a go!
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Allen-Carrs-Easy-Stop-Smoking/dp/0141026898/sr=1-1/qid=1164048898/ref=sr_1_1/026-9905784-6914033?ie=UTF8&s=books
"The object of this book is to get you into the frame of mind in which, instead of the normal method of stopping whereby you start off with the feeling that you are climbing Mount Everest and spend the next few weeks craving a cigarette and envying other smokers, you start right away with a feeling of elation, as if you had been cured of a terrible disease."
Wish me luck anyway Managed 4 months last time but started again

Its just supposed to change the way you think about it, instead of giving up being the beginnging of a long difficult journey, its supposed to be like a massive releif that you finally broke free, or something like that. Two of my mates recommended it to me and cant stop talking about it

Wicked, just found this thread again. Year to the day yesterday since I gave up, in that time I had 1 on new years eve and 5 in Spain in January when I was very drunk, apart from that, not touched them and got no intention of going back. I also said that i wanted to get fit, well, ive lost 30lbs since then and im swimming between 4000 and 5000m a day. Im giving myself a pat on the back for that!

They say the best way is just to one day stop. Don't think about stopping, or planning stuff. Just do it.
Unfortunately the last person I knew to do this got divorced 3 weeks later and went straight back to the ciggys
