For all of you that commute on the train... where the hell do you put a bike???

I'm starting a new job next week and will be doing the whole bike/train lark..

At the rear end of the train (the carriage furthest from the driving end) there is an area with 4 bike racks, If not then get it on it's rear wheel and stand near the door letting people past.

just stand in the door bit with it mebbe i mean the entrance doors onto the carriage, not the ones that go directly between the carriages

we got 12 BMXs in the bike holding end once, no room to sit down and they were very seccure I have a pic of it somewhere

Lol @ the 12 BMX's... Trains arent too busy at the times I'm going because I'm a half 9 start so should be fine..

Just didnt want to look like a retard trying to find out where my bike goes on the first day.. lol

Do you leave them there or is there seats in thatb area aswell??

No seats, just bike racks on one side- seats on the other side collapse for more space. We had 2 lots of BMXs 4 deep, 2 onto of the 4, then another 2 on the other side.

Bottom line Kano is that you're ALLOWED to take bikes on trains, whether they have special places to store them is there problem but they cant refuse to let you on.

some ticket controller people can be funny about this kind of thing. i used to ride BMX with my brother and afew mates and we regularly got told that there was a problem with us having bikes on the train. then again i think the problem was more that there was afew of us, not the fact that we had bikes. if you get me

If you find an old train they have huge bike carrages, like a big room and you could probably get about 30 bikes in.

yeah just take it on where ever you can but there is normally a bike section other wise you get moaned at by the ticket bloke

i take mine eveytime i get on a train

Me and some others went on a big ride in London on sunday. 15 MTB trials bikes in one carrage
Ticket bloke didnt even bother he turned round and went back

yer should be fine. Best thing is to just ask at the station before hand. thats what we did. Although you i cant see there been any probs at all.


Some pics from the other day came out well. Got all these people plus others behind the camera on one train with bikes

Would love to get into trials stuff... Might buy a trials bike in a few months once I can get discount through my new work..

Got an old skool GT Zaskar to kick about on just now, so should do the trick..

Theres a bit at the door of the train for your bike mate. I cant remember if its on al the carraiges though or just the end one
