150 quid, unlucky! my mother got me some for about £60 brand new because shes got an EWD card which gives you about 40% off lol! before you ask, yes shes a hairdresser lol IMO dont get GHD's they have a reputation for blowing up while your using them and melting through surfaces when they are put on the side after use!

They also have a reputation as the best ones to get and yes they will melt stuff seeing as they get hot. Surely all straighteners will do that.

Ste has the right idea though, at least you can't get the wrong ones that way.

just a few points here: why the f#@k do you own straighteners and how the hell are a piece of plastic with a heater element going to 'blow up'??? can you recommend a set that don't contain any explosives ???

the wire bit that joins to the plastic blows, caused by bending it too much when they are ravelled up after use! there was a documentary on it, i aren't making it up! there was a load of complaints about them being faulty so they had to sample them and redesign! by the way if im the only lad that you have heard of that uses straighteners you either need to get out more or stop hanging around with chavs!

I was just appauled by the mess of the post you made.

I also don't hang about with 'chavs' and I would laugh at any of them if they had hair straighteners.

the only reason this happens is cause people wrap the wire round them once finished, and according to the missus u r jus suppose to wind the cable up naturally in your hand not round it

well every girl I know has got a set and they're all alive and had no near death experiences with their straightners

long thick hair...go for the big plate ones

http://www.ghdhair.com/go/shop-uk/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=30

this is a good gift bag one (but with the smaller plate ones)

http://www.ghdhair.com/go/shop-uk/product_info.php?cPath=31&products_id=120

comes with a thermal bag...so if you can pack them up whilst they're still hot and they wont burn things...
I should get me one of them

GHD's are far superior to any other straightners. As for burning things with them , you can buy a stand for them

Fee, never knew you could get a thermal bag....... I usually have to wrap mines in a towel when I'm taking them with me
