Hello all,

As you can guess im new on Corsasport (not quite true i've been using it on and off but have only just got myself a Corsa and am now a full member).

I just thought i'd introduce myself and show you my car and previous cars.

Basically i've been a Vauxhall nut since I was 17 and have owned 5 Nova's, a Calibra and now a Corsa (I did have a 205 gti for a while but we won't mention that). Im currently an active member on Novaload, Migweb and Club Calibra.

Ok my cars (The best ones anyway)

This was my Courtenay 1.6 8v Turbo back in 2002

It was producing 161bhp, but I soon got bored and ended up stripping it down to a bare shell (which I still have but have never got round to doing anything with it) lol

I then brought a bog standard GTE which I did this to

Next I needed for power so I fitted the engine from the silver car

This was fine for a while but then blew up due to the dodgey way Courtenay Sport controlled fuelling with their Turbo conversions. So I rebuilt it and did it proper with a DTA Stand alone ECU and a host of other parts including Water Injection and a bigger intercooler. At this tune it was producing a very respectable 181bhp and 185lb's ft Torque (covered the 1/4mile in 14.1 @ 99mph).

Next I took it to a show in Belgium and then to the German Nurburgring. (at this stage I hadn't made a bumper to fit the intercooler behind so I just didn't run one)

Which was a good job because I had a little bump with the armco at the 'RING'

I then got crazy and wanted a full kitted out car (all the work was done myself including the spraying of the kit and dash)

And me round Silverstone, whopping some Cossie a55

I then blew a hole in the side of the block of this engine thanks to a faulty crank sensor, doh! and brought a Calibra SE5 as a run around

Naturally I got bored with this and started Modding....
This is her 'first' transformation on the way to the Nurburgring in 2005

One respray, a set of 19's and a year later she looked like this

Another year and another respray and she now looks like this

Complete with a load of ICE (oh and she now runs on LPG because of my 112 mile round trip to work everyday)

Ok on to my Corsa (yey I hear you cry)
She started out as a 1.4 16v Sport which a good mate of mine brought many years ago when my red Nova still looked like this

Since then it has undergone many transformations as him as the owner (The owner is on Corsasport as Padge16v)
Here it is at Curbourgh as a 1.4 still

On a trackday at Landow in wales (now with a 172bhp XE engine)

Next it had a respray 18months ago and looks the way it does now

This was it at Trax earlier this year (with its latest engine, see below), he over filled it oil and it was pouring out of the breather onto the heat wrapped manifold. Doh!

Before the above though, the owner decided he needed more rev's, more noise and more power... so a Mint XE on Throttle bodies (192bhp this one was producing) was purchased and fitted. Out with the old....

In with the new...

sorry for the cr@p pic quality below, it was the only pic I have of it fitted

Unfortunetely this engine didn't last long... Just days before our yearly trip to Nurburg each year he lost oil pressure and crunched some bearings in the bottom end. doh! but not to fear she was soon up and running again before this years USC with a standard replacement bottom end.

Fast forward a few months to October this year and the owner decided he wanted a car which was slower, made no noise and could fit the family in.... so a 5 door Leon Cupra R was purchased (boooo )

Which ment the Corsa was to be broken.

Now as I've helped build and develop this car over the years, i've always had a soft spot for it and I know exactly what the cars done.

I also happened to have very special engine lieing around which I brought nearly 2 years ago to fit in my Silver Nova (which is still a bare shell), so i bit the bullet, made an offer and got myself the corsa minus the engine.

Engine out

By the way, parts from this engine are presently forsale on this site and Migweb if anyones interested.

I will be starting a progress thread shortly in the Projects Section showing the build (The completion date is before next years 'Ring' trip sometime in May). But until then some of you may recognise the engine that i've brought and know why its so special....

This is the car it came out of

This is the engine in the car

And here it is being lifted out of my calibra with help from a mate

I would just like to say thanks to Padge for selling me the car, and I look forward to being an active part of this website and meeting you guys at future shows/events.

Cheers

Neil

Welcome to CS

Some awesome cars in the past - spotted this Corsa at PVS this year - loved the look of it.

Also look forward to the end result of this project - remember seeing that Nova in Max Power a few years back - bit of a beast!
