Was at it for AGES , trying to get the fucker off. In the end out came MR Angle Grinder.

why did you not just unwind it from the steering rack and cut the bolt off?

It wouldnt come off beardy , absolutley NOTHING, was getting it off !

Oh yeah , and the thread you can see inside that cut on the track rod end is not from the actuall rod

Just incase anyone thinks that I chopped the lot off

lol the photo is misleading !!

I made four cuts that close to the thread , then bent it out with a screwdriver and finally it came off.

On my brother's old Cav the mechanic dude remove the track rods with the ends still intact, then he got a blow torch to the ends and heated them up, occasionally spraying WD40 in the path of the blow torch for some reason!

No one could sort this out, not even Vauxhall! Vauxhall wanted to remove the steering wheel and put it back on an angle (ie. not straight)...
