3 "proper" meals a day and less snacking between meals

Drink plenty of water during the day

If you are going to a gym, eat a lot of high protean meals (Chicken, Tuna, Eggs)opposed to carbs (pasta etc)

By eating high carb foods and then going to a gym on a tredmill for example, you are using the energy the food gave you rather then burning off body fat.

People may disagree with this but it worked for me 4 years ago and i lost a lot weight and toned up well

Put it all back on now tho

the books n "pros" say 5-6 small meals a day. containing both complex carbs and protien.

cut out the booze and chips etc. try and drink around 3l of water a day (will also make your skin very good too)
get down the gym and hit the rowing machine.

studies have shown that guys who use the rowing machine burn more fat off that the ones on the running machines and bikes.

if you can, get yourself down the gym in the morning and work out. that way your not just gonna burn off the stuff you just ate.

weights also help. not mega heavy 70+KGs just some light weights to tone up specific areas.

and stick with it.. i have lost over 2 stone and my arms and sholders are getting feckin huge now too..

been doing it for about 5 months now. but really trying to do a gym session 3-4 times a week

well, if its not losing weight you want to do, then carbs are the thing to do, with loads of protien, which helps to build muscle.

AJ has the right idea. as he said, fish, chicken, eggs all give you protien.

the carbs would keep your energy going to work out.

look it up on the internet, theres loads forums about it.

yeah doing gym 7 times a week is a little much.

3-4 is cool.

slimfast.. not even sure if those things work. its easy if you think about it.

you need to use up more calories than you consume. Then you will start burning off the fat.

really you need to start looking at your calorie intake and once you have worked it out. cut 500-600 calories from your diet every day. doing this plus the gym will burn fat in no time

to make that even more simple..

if you eat 1500 calories per day and at the gym you burn off 2000 calories per day then your off to a good start.

When trying to lose weight the first step is to include protein (e.g. chicken, fish or Promax), carbohydrate (e.g fruits, vegetables and wholegrain foods) and healthy fats (e.g. olives, nuts, fish). These should be eaten in calorie controlled regular meals in three equal parts - a fist size portion of protein, a fist size portion of carbohydrate and the remaining third of salad or vegetables.

ideally you want to go to the gym 3/4 times a week for weights with 10-20mins after each session of cardio. as stated by someone above one of the best forms is the rowing machine.

to put weight on you want to be doing between 6-10 reps for 4 sets. but because your wanting to loose weight id suggest doing 12-15 reps but only 3 sets, try to have a shorter rest period between each set too.

the key to it all is mainly to eat properly. 5/6 meals a day is best but make sure that theyre relatively small meals, this means that your metabolism wont get chance to slow down. when dieting your protein intake should be around 3/4 gramms per kg of bodyweight, carbs about 2 gramms per kg and fats about 1 gram per kg. thats what i stuck to when i deiting and i cut up just fine. it all depends on your body though if you feel its not working then up the protein and lower the carbs. about 2l of water a day should be sufficient but it doesnt matter if you want to drink more than that.

the best time to do cardio is first thing in the morning if you can because your stomach will be empty so you'll be burning off weight straight from the source as opposed to working off what youve eaten 1st. trying doing HIIT which is high intensity interval training. so for example if youve got a cycling machine go on it for 2 mins at regular pace, then 30 sec of giving it all youve got, then 2 mins regular etc etc do this for about 20 minutes.

best sources of protein will be your eggs, tuna, chicken and you cant go wrong with a good protein suppliment such as 90+

think thats about it i realise all the info ive just typed if abit all over the place but i just type it as it comes to mind lol, if you wanna know anything just give me a u2u.

1500 carlories a day is a good base point to start on. obviously the longer you diet the more resistant your body will become to it so youll need to cut out your carbs. at the end of my diet i was only taking in about 900 or so and thats hardly anything.

burning 2000 calories that the gym is highly unlikely! unless you do hours of cardio. i think when i used to use the rowing machine i had it on highest resistence for 20mins and burns approx 300 calories. doing weights will burns nowhere near that amount due to you being static for a lot of the time.

sign up to fitday.com and input your food intakes, thatll give you a good idea of how many calories you have each day and how much pros/carbs/fats have in each food/meal. you'll burn off a lot of calories throughout the day just going about your life, because of the smaller meals your body will burn calories just processing it.

and situps wont do fuck all in terms of loosing weight lol, theyll just work your abs but you wont see them unless you drop bodyfat. as steve said crunches are the way forward for better abs. leg raises wont hurt either!
