What a load of cock, they won't do this they couldn't get away with it. Think of all the Uni Students that would be struggling for money anyway.

I can't see this happening to be honest.

It's like the charges you get when you go overdrawn. You can actually claim these back on the grounds that the charges are too high and don't properly reflect the amount of extra work/effort a bank has to go to when you go overdrawn (ie none). It's an unfair charge.

Surely that would create a rich get richer and the poor get poorer scenario.

Although I think what they are trying to do is encourage people to save money.

Its First Direct that are going to do this, and most of their customers are rich cunts anyway so shouldn't be any problems in the near future for most of us.

Won't happen, the whole thing about harges being too much etc, they are so fucking greedy why do they need to keep earning money on such a large scale they aren't exactly short ffs and even if interest rates change they're not exactly in danger ffs.

I'm constantly in my overdraft each month. It's manageable though. Getting a safe isn't an option

Reading that, the charges that are mentioned are fair. Going overdrawn etc.

Also the figure thats mentioned with regards to credit cards again, fair.

If you dont pay off your credit card bill or you withdraw more money than you actually have then yes, you should be charged IMO.

As for being charged even when you have money in your account, thats totally wrong. Not many people have £1500 they can leave in their account and not touch.

TBH current accounts generally offer very little interest anyway so being charged will render having one completely pointless.

My Dad just said the banks tried something like this before and it didnt last long.

I wonder if those claiming benefits will have to pay the charge if it comes into effect. I suspect not.
