right bear with me lol

i have a PIONEER DEH-30MP and whenever the audio lead for the amp (red and white) is plugged in, or the pin even touching the socket, i have a crackling/buzzing from each of my speakers. the noise doesnt change with volume or any audio settings. i have no amp or power leads or anything in my car, and it only happens with the engine running.

i have tried a noise reducer thing plugged into the audio lead, a noise suppressor into the headunit, and an alternator suppressor. its the second headunit too. and 4 sets of leads.

anyone had a similar prob?fixed it? ive ripped my amp out atm but i wanna put it back in, thanks

Bad earth for the headunit itself. Run a new earth for the HU.

already tried that, fitting the head unit supressor included powering it from a diff source so i wired i tup to the fag lighter but it was the same

and if it was a bad earth would it not do it all the time, because it only does it when the rca leads are touching the output sockets and when the engine is running?

That means the RCA leads are not shielded and are being run too close to power cables and is feeding the alternator noise back through.

You should notice the pitch change when you rev the engine.

i have also used four different sets of rca leads, ive had the power lead running from the battery on the floor around the car to the boot, and the rca leads over the seats, but it didnt change anything.

The only thing i can put it down to is the headunit being wank. as i have never had the sub working without the prob with his headunit, but i had the same setup with a diff headunit (pioneer again, and roughly the same price) with no problems. its the second headunit because the first was faulty (with a different fault) and it was the same with that.

does anybody have this stereo running an amp?do you have any interference?

thanks ppl that have helped so far

Craig, it could very well be the headunit.

My brother bought a rebranded unit which I fitted into my car.

I have had a Clarion DXZ 858 RMP fitted to my astra sounding perfectly for some time, with a sub and components. No interference and crystal clear sound.

I fitted the rebranded unit, and I had EVERYTHING.

CD motor noise, alternator noise, noise when turning on the fans, indicators the lot.

Fitted my Clarion back, perfectemundo.

Only thing I could see different was the in line regulator block on the +12v feed in the wiring loom on the rebranded unit.

Checked the Pioneer 6400 my mother has and it also has interference, and one of these regulator blocks fitted in the wiring loom.

Does your Pioneer HU have one of these?
