An earthly paradise in the area of Greenland to which Admiral Doenitz may have referred, and to which it was the intention on the part of various Nazi leaders to flee at the end of World War Two, is suggested historically on two occasions.
The Thule Society, founded officially in 1919, had close links to the NSDAP. One of its cardinal beliefs was the idea that there is another dimension, into which it is possible for certain humans to pass, and whose portals are to be found close to either Pole. In this Other World live advanced beings endowed with occult powers whose ultimate intention is to take over the world. The aim of the Thule Society was to contact these beings and conclude a pact with them.
In 325 BC, the Greek navigator and geographer Pytheas set out in search of mythical Thule. He based his navigation theory on the premise that the world was spherical and the the Pole Star was constant. This enabled him to estimate his latitude from a previous given point. In his writings entitled "On the Ocean", only excerpts of which survive, Pytheas became the first chronicler to report the polar ice, the midnight sun and the aurora borealis. He claimed to have discovered Thule which lay "six days sail north of the British Isles" and "one day's sail from where the sea freezes." One can speculate from this that Thule lay north of the Narrows between Spitzbergen and Greenland.
At Thule, Pytheas saw the "midnight sun" and polar ice, confirming the location of the island in the high latitudes of the Arctic. It was a place "where land, properly speaking, no longer exists, nor sea nor air, but a mixture of these things". Thule was, he said, "an agricultural country producing honey whose inhabitants ate fruit and milk, and made a drink of grain and honey. They threshed the grain indoors in barns."
Now, if Thule sustained a large bee population, had pasture, and its inhabitants grew fruit and cereals, it cannot have been anywhere near the Arctic Circle, for both climate and daylength make agriculture impossible there. For this reason, this part of Pytheas' otherwise admitted account is dismissed by historians. The only explanation for what he saw, and historians do not like the idea, is a land geographically near northern Greenland, but which must exist in another dimension and become visible from time to time.
The second reprted sighting of Thule occurred in 1909 while Admiral Peary was on his way to the North Pole. He sighted land NW of Ellesmere Island and named it "Crockerland", since he thought it was real land that had eluded being mapped.
Lt Green, the physicist explorer with Admiral Peary, wrote an article in 1923 in "Popular Science Monthly" concluding that the lost Viking colonists of Greeenland had migrated there. He asked Greenland Eskimos what had happened to the colonists after the time of Erik the Red in 985 AD. The Eskimos said that one year a hunting party came back from the North and told the colonists they had been near a "paradise" in Arctic waters, a place the Eskimo had always known about but would not visit for fear of the "evil spirits" which protected it.
They said it lay "in the direction of the coastal trail north", i.e. NW of the NW tip of Greenland along the same line that Admiral Peary had sighted "Crockerland". Lt Green thought it was an island in an unexplored part of the Arctic Sea. His map in the article shows it near the North Polar Opening. In 1926 Amundsen and Ellsworth flew a dirigible from Spitsbergen to Alaska but could not find the "island" although anomalous fog and an unusual temperature increase were recorded.
There is a mysterious island in the Canaries the presence of which has been reported on numerous occasions since the beginning of the Christian era. Under a 1519 treaty, the island is claimed by Spain "in the event that it should become permanent" and so the concept of islands which drift between two dimensions may not be as peculiar to scientific thought as many would imagine.

Interesting...

...but that bit got me thinking, were the British Isles known by that name in 325 BC? Seems to be an error or hole in the story...

Good point Ash, but maybe for the sake of the story they refered to the British Isles for the less educated out there to prevent confusion.

Look what I found Ash, so the story has some credibilty
The oldest surviving historical records of the islands preserve fragments of the travels of the ancient Greek Pytheas around 320 BC and describe Great Britain and Ireland as the islands of Prettanike with their peoples the Priteni or Pretani, a name which may have been used in Gaul

All the stuff I read is intresting, it takes something special to hold my attention.
I live in the hope that there are special things on this planet that are yet to be explained.

I reckon it could be a settlement of USO's conducting their own life experiments, in a way that is undectable by us.

Good explantion Jamborina, people are in such a belief that what they see is what they get, people cannot get their heads around things like this. If it doesn't involve reality TV or what Jordan & Peter are doing in the latest issue of OK then it isn't real or doesn't really matter.

Is their anything remotely nuclear around there? Or any strage magnetic fields like the bermuda triangle? (many like this dotted around the globe) they are known hotspots for USO activity. Could be where they live.
You never know

The highest density of recorded sightings of USO's have been on the first nuclear warship in the late forties early fifties (dont have date to hand)
They are watching us. We need to know what they do
