 | I wouldn't go for a DSLR on that budget, you'll need to spend more on lenses to get a versitile camera.
 
 Personally I would consider the Canon Powershot G7 if you can find one cheap enough, they're quite new.  Perhaps also a deal on the G6 if you find that.
 
 There's also the Canon Powershot S3 IS which is lower res but has 12x optical zoom.  That will be cheaper again and I would spend the change on batteries, memory and a tripod.
