In rallying they use filters, not sure what exactly they are but you could look into it.

maybe some think layer foam. will let air pass thru and will filter the dirt and shit.

well I am only blocking it for winter as weather is shit...

perspex would be fine and easy to clean, mite have to keep on top of it so it dont go dull but then you could replace it easily

perspex will be fine, i used it on my vents on an old corsa so coil didnt get water on it, u can get weaterproof stuff that wont go yellow over time, for it to go yellow anyway will need few years of sun!!!
