After watching Mythbusters last week on Discovery, I decided to do some busting of myths myself.

I always wondered if putting salt on slugs worked! So on Saturday morning......

It half melted Leroy (the slug) He literally melted in front of my eyes. I always imagined it would be a slow process. However he did not completely disappear

Conclusion: MYTHBUSTED

P.S. Can someone explain why they melt?

The thick goo you see on the slug after salt is put on the body is actually the fluid or blood of a slug that rushes to the skin's surface to dilute the salt.
