Basically, I went out for a meal to a new restaurant that opened yesterday with the mrs.
I ordered a monster sized burger and had it topped with bacon and cheese
BUT I was eating it and all of a sudden 'bang', my back teeth were killing me as i'd bit down on something solid, so I then spat it out over the table and had a rummage through the burger to find a green shard of glass measuring about 0.5cm x 0.5cm
I took some pics and reported it to the manager who came for a look, almost seeemed like he'd seen it happen before He didn't charge for any of the meal (wouldn't have paid anyway) but where do I go from here? Do I get my dentists bill paid for because i'm gonna have to go get my back teeth sorted now

contact the CAB, ask them for advice
I would take photos, write to the head office of the company (brewsters, beefeater etc) with a copy of your dentist bill and ask them to cover it, also tell them you will be seeking legal advice for the damage to your mouth

Glass in the food? Thats rediculous. Do they not know how dangerous that is? Sounds like they tried to fob you off with a free meal.

That's just the thing, had I swallowed it and been in hospital (and not died) I could be entitled to thousands, but because I didn't swallow it I get my meal for free. A bit shit isn't it
Cheers for advice guys, i'll take a look at the CAB website at lunch

I didn't even go mad tho, i'm quite a chilled out person normally and takes a bit to push me over the edge
I was shocked more than anything, I know a lot of people would've gone off on one and I assume the manager knew this, hence why he came and sat next to me and tried to be my buddy

Lord Sheldon Arms, Ashton Moss, Ashton-U-Lyne, Manchester
Only been open 2months or so. Bad start i'd say.
The manager actually just called me to apologise, apparantly the supplier is coming to pick up the food with the glass in today to investigate. He also wants to to get back to him with details about my teeth.

Supplier got back to the manager, results were inconclusive as you'd expect, so nobody is admitting liability.
He's offered me and the mrs a free meal...cost him a whole £5 won't it

restaurant where I work had trouble with this last year, and it turned out it was this cock who was pissed at job threw a wine bottle agianst wall and bits of glass went into steak pie that was cooking below. it only came out after a couple of complaints but was never proven it was him, apart from big dent on wall They got sued twice over that.
