I'm going to delock both doors on my SRi but need an alternate method of getting in should the worst happen to my battery. I have a microwave sensor to warn people near the car off but say a cat kept triggering the warning chirps (or indeed the alarm outright) I may have problems.

I was thinking of mounting a plug of some kind near the front of the car so I could plug another battery in with a custom made lead to attach to it.....any other suggestions? Interested to hear how you overcame the issue. Any advice welcomed....

I delocked my handles and then my alarm fob ran out of battery so I had to go through the boot.

If you have delocked the boot tho, you can poke a screwdriver through one of the number plate screws holes and pull the lever down to release the catch.

Obviously the alarms gonna go off, but you just have to insert ur key and disarm it however you do...

That's handy to know since if I can do it so can robbing little toerags. I'll make sure I setup the boot popper motor at an awkward angle or summat (got semi smooth boot).

Think I'll go with my original plan and tailor make a lead to attach a battery to which then plugs in on the body somewhere linked up to the main battery terminals, just enough to power the central locking.

EDIT: I was originally referring to my main car battery not the fob (I got 2 fobs) but you've covered that too now, cheers

It's amazing where you can hide little bits of string inside the doors of a Corsa to give you backup entry

I've removed the microwave sensor for fear of locking myself out but I'd really like it back in tbh.

Reviving this thread for fresh ideas on how to overcome this.....any more suggestions?

Just reminded me of the scene in Jackass II with Erin doing his terrorist stunt.

Seriously though, this has got me stumped.

i think you can run a thick wire from your battery and hide it somewhere and if your battery goes dead put a charge to the wire and earth on the car , it should charge it enough to open the doors

One problem Deano, that hammer is on the interior of that vehicle

Also, I was hoping not to have to cane a window through to get in either

your use could use small one's with an adapter for one of the small 12v battries... then if your batt does die you can hook up a batt and turn the alarm off
