How long do you have to have remaining on your passport so your allowed to go abroad?

I have both 6 weeks, and 6 months in my head..

You don't even need on to go there

Can use it until it expires. It's just places like the US that gets arsey about you being in thier coulntry with a passport thats going to expire soon...

Well thats good, i dont fancy parting with £50+ money for another passport which would be used the once in a couple of years

its 6 months...but that's usually only for places that you need a visa for.

So i wouldnt need to get a new one for the canary islands?

I'm going in January, my passport runs out in may...

Just buy one to be on the safe side. Whtas £50 if it means you can definately go abroad.

6 months minimum from the date of return im afraid taken from the spanish consolate wesbite

what Jamie said, and you never know when you might need to go abroad in a hurry

always good to have an up to date passport just incase.
