Bought mine like that 52,000 miles, absolutley perfect inside and out was doin 2,000 a year for 7 years. Bargain at £400

An engine, at least 4 wheels, steering wheel are a must. Windows and doors aren't essential. I suppose some kind of seats would be handy.

check for rust underneath

Check the b pillars for cracks since if left they can fail you on MOT....how that hasn't been mentioned is beyond me.

Check the chassis rails and arches for rust.

Check under the bonent (put your fingers under) as this I find a common place for them to rust.

bad idea IMO. will have never been in 5th gear, so the first 4 get more wear. clutch is more likely to be buggered, will be covered in parking dings, bumped up and down kerbs, brakes won't have been checked regularly.

good point.

and if it's a woman with kids, the interior would be a mess more often than not.
