Right, well me and my mate went to pick up my new interior at the weekend. Driving back down on the motorway a copper decided to pull us over cause apparently we looked suspicious with having the back of the car filled with "dark items". Anways he tells me to sit in the back whilst he goes over a few things, asks for my details etc and turns around and says according to this my insurance is only on Third Party Fire and Theft, to my recolection I asked to be put on Full Comp when I swapped over and never noticed it hadnt changed.but the price of my insurance went up so I didnt think otherwise.

I was in my mams car by the way.

So anways, after me arguing that Im fully comp he decided to give me a producer to take the cars test cert, insurance cert and license in.

I phoned up my insurance and enquired about the lack of change to my insurance, they told me I hadnt requested to change it so I asked for them to look up the recording of the phone call to prove I hadnt, they said this couldnt be done. Then they added that because Im only 21 then being fully comp wont make a difference because I need to be 25 to be able to be 3rd party on another car?

So basically, Ive got a producer from driving my mams car whilst only being insured on my car! And the insurance are being an arse.

Doesnt look like Ive got a leg to stand on so how royally fucked am I going to get?

Yup, normally you have to be 25 + to be insured third party on other cars.

Get practising picking up soap in the shower.

Have seen people get just 6 points for no insurance, and others given a ban.

When renewing my insurance online I added the drive another car option (with Admiral) which cost £34.99, however no where on the website or terms and conditions did it say you have to be 25, it was only when i phoned and asked they told me, pain in the ass!

It doesn't matter if you are fully comp or not anyway.

Thats not what decides if you can drive other cars or not.

Yeh Quinn are pretty good if you want the ability of being insured on others peoples cars.

I'm with them atm, and its quite handy - can drive others peoples cars when they want to drink etc too - also nice to not drive mine occasionally lol.
