Basicly i bought an armrest for my bmw for 95 off some guy that breaks bmws with quite good feedback. he described the item as very good condition, when it turned up it wasnt it was filthy and wouldnt clean up properly had scratches and a few chips.
I emailed him and he said if i send it back he well give me a refund, fine i thought. so is sent it back (stupidly standard parcels unisnsured and not recorded) he is now saying he hasnt recieved it and it been about 3 weeks.
i am sure he is lieing, but cant prove otherwise as i have no proof of posting etc. Not sure what to do now as i am over 100 out of pocket and am furious that he has stitched me up.
Any serious suggestions please?

I sent a ebay item standard parcels and the bloke claimed it was broken when recieved. sent him the receipt for him to claim as standard parcels are insured up to £28.

If he claims via PayPal and the seller asks him to send the item back?
I guess you've lost everyhting here. But still try it via PayPal (very little chance)

tbh I don't think that'll help at all mate because if its not recorded, then one of the postmen could have easily swiped it.

Pitty you didn't take out the extra compensation you can do with standard parcels. It's not much more

Unfortunately jaffa, the women in the post office screwed up as she was new and didnt give me the reciept and i forgot to ask, hence the dilemma. i know the date it was posted and the postcode but post office reckon there is no way of checking and getting number

It's the sender that has to make the claim though

This is the dilemma i have, things is i must have sent over 100 items standard parcels and have never before had 1 go missing, i know its possible but is highly unlikely, i just know this cock is trying it on as he knows i havent got any proof.

but do you honestly think RM is gonna say "Oh, we delivered it to his door, but here's the compensation anyway"

not sure how it works
admit it sounds unlikely but it would of been worth a go if you have the receipt.
end of day if you are clutching at straws its worth a go.
I had two dvds lost from my dvd rental club. sent to me but never delivered, tesco seem to be claiming for them as i had a form to complete come through the other day from royal mail
