two threads for two differnt things to show how mad I am about this!
Some friends of the family were here over the weekend.
Les (my dads friend) was 60 this week.
His parents moved from Canada to scotland before he was born so has lived here all his life. He has a canadian passport.
He was a civil servant for just over 25 years working in Customs and excile.
He has an OBE and now lives and works in cumbria making films. His recent one was for the Lake District tourism board.
He recently went to Malta on holiday. When he arrived back he was questioned for 2 hours at passport control as to why he was here.
He has a borad scotish accent 
To make it een funnier the person who questioned him was asain, and struggled to speak english 
He now has to wait up to 9 months to find out if he can stay here!! 
He knows a few other canadinan people in this country. One served in the british Army for 25 years. Now he has to wait up to 9 months to fins out if he is to be deported! Why?! No one knows!!!

i was questioned a passport control, asking why i have an italian passport, who my family were, how long ive lived here etc. lucky i didnt get the same treatment your mate did
