If you've got her details and she's willing to pay up...may as well just get it from her

if she wants to go through insurance its her choice really....if it's her insurance that will be paying out

Get the money off the woman, but if its not enough she offers then go through insurance.

how much is a quick blow over on the door and get a dent removed?

I was thinking £200? gonna go to a bodyshop to have a look....

TBH might just get the cash and not get it fixed as its a p reg and have a few scuffs anyways...

Might be more damage than you can see. Get it checked out first and then assess

I'd be tempted to do that if its an oldish car thats not worth much. Or depending on how bad the dent is see if one of those dent people can pop it out.

I'd avoid insurance at all costs.

They'll hike your premium even if it isn't your fault

Just go through insurance. All these agreements not to go through insurance tend to go sour and fuck up.

It'll go down on your insurance as a not at fault claim (they call it something like that anyway) they reckon it doesn't put your insurance up but it will

thats bollocks, me and girlfriend with adrian flux, had accident each (not our faults) and my insurqance went down by £80 and hers by over £100. As long as your not with a cheapo insurance company you'll be fine

Insurance will not hike your premium if its not your fault, i dont understand where people get this, iv had several accidents not my fault, gone through insurance and my premium is unaffected, why should it be affected

I dont know what two bit insurance you use if its affected, but im sure as hell if they hiked someones premium when it was the third partys fault it would fall to pieces if contested in court

My mate was involved in an accident when he wasn't at fault and it put his insurance up the next year! This is what I based it on.

I dont understand why they want to know if you have had any claims in the last 5 years regardless of fault. Surely they only need to know if you have had any claims that you were at fault for!

Matty is bang on here its regardless of fault becuse admin charges and the time associated in rectifying the cliam all accounts to money

So your insurance will go up granted not as much as it would it had been your fault

nope, your missing the point, all charges/costs are taken out of the loosing parties policy, therefore if the insurance company decide its not your fault then the other party accepts the costs.

I based my initial comment on my experience with Norwich union
