big in this country usually means they cater for the masses to fill the club to make money. 
I've always wanted to go to chibuku shake shake night in Liverpool, thats said to be good or was said to be good anyway, don't think its particularly big or anything though.

but what holds the biggest nights ??
most famous and generally cool DJs
have seen before.. Eric Morillo, Timo Maas, Seb Fontaine, Tocadisco, Basement Jaxx, Hed Kandi Co, John Pleased Women, Judge Jules, Tim Sheridan, Smokin Jo etc etc...
need to see some other huge names in the dance scene..

Saw Tiesto in Cream (can't remember the name of the club it was in) for their 11th birthday a few years back.. wasn't bad

Hell of a night, was on last week but didn't go
Cream birthday is still big every november seen the judge, tiesto, oakenfold, paul van dyk there.
Liverpool still draws big names, also seen timo maas, darren emerson at circus.
Don't think the likes of cox, van buren or picotto have been lately if at all though

gatecrasher was an event, not a club. the club was called republic, gatecrasher was held elsewhere before it moved to there and is now on at many places (like hed kandi)
the club is now called gatecrasher 1 and gatecrasher is now called crasher.
