they are all functional speed holes  not just holes for holes sake 
middle to try and open up more of the IC face to airflow. Side ones are to get air to oil cooler.
Whipped off the AAC (ICV) and checked it out. The guy thats repairing the ECU suggested the chip that failed did so because of the AAC or its wiring.
Its under the inlet plenium and ITBs so a bit fiddly to get to. Took it off, cleaned it, checked it, measured its resistance (ok). Couldnt see anything wrong.
Thats the Skyline and 911 in their new homes for now... Hopefull have the 911 out for summer soon enough
Skyline cover doesnt quite fit with all its aero pish!

Any ideas what could be causing the following symtoms...
We have a PowerFC D-Jetro, that has recently been repaired (chip related to AAC :/ ). Plugged it in today and the fuel pump relays are just going crazy clicking away. (1 oe green relay in boot and 2nd aftermarket one for external pumps). No fuses have gone, and there is no burning smell from the ECU as per the first time it failed.
When we re-fit the standard Nissan R32 GTR ecu the pumps prime and all seems fine (it wont fire up obviously as we no longer have AFM's etc)
We need the car working sooner rather than later

Have another ECU as a loan and it seems to fire up the pumps fine. So will pop our map on it this week and hopefully get the car out on track at the weekend to blast off some cobwebs (fee and the car  )

bastard of a car....
Uploaded an old map on to loaned ECU (dont have current map, but had the one from the last engine build which is similar... and the map we did the engine run-in on). Uploaded fine, but car still wont start.
I'm sure its getting fuel - plugs smell of fuel, pumps make a noise - havent taken a hose off the rail yet to see if it squirts out though.
I'm NOT sure that its getting a spark. Kinda hard to see when turning the car over and peering at the plug in the engine bay. From what I could see (turned lights off) the plug wasnt sparking.
Suggestions where to go from here... I'll try some new spare plugs (not right ones for car but they'll do to see if they spark!
Whilst I was down in the dumps I changed the front diff oil... and the realised/remembered it was actually only about 3 events old once it was draining. Oh Well

Finally got sponsorship sorted out with Opie oils, so will be sporting 4 OPIE stickers on both the Skyline and Impreza for 2010 
Ordered a heap of oil for the skyline as a result
15 litres (should last till mid may maybe... oil bills fairly mount up changing oil after every event, and a sump holding 7.5l + 0.5l of cooler. :/) of Millers 10w60 CVS - engine oil.
5 litres of RedLine heavy shockproof - gearbox oil
2 litres of Silkoline BOA 90LS - LSD gear oil
2 litres of Silkoline DII ATF fluid - Transfer Box oil
1 litre of Silkoline BOA 80w90 - Front diff gear oil
new toy to help out with doing gearbox, diffs and transfer box. Was a royal pain in the ass with the pumps we had before (small capacity, tiny pipe bore etc)
Hopefully this will work a treat. Still need to refill it 9 times for the gearbox though

No, I took a very wide exit out of Island hairpin, so all my wheels were off the track and on the rumble strip/grass

she did
It isnt the off in the vids... she used all the track, rumble strips and some grass going wider on the exit of a hairpin, in theory allowing more exit speed. Going by the rules thats a no no!
She changed her lines afterwards and entered the corner deeper giving her a better exit and using all the allowed kerb

spent a couple of hours on the car this morning....
- Master switch wired in.
- Fixed constant live to gauages (there was a new wire soldered in to the circuit that was introducing a constant live - must have been something from when wiring was getting checked/alt wire was broken... removed it anyway and back to working as it should)
- Fixed SPA gauge - earth had loosened a touch with Fee's offroading
- Fitted some new lenses to SPA wing mirrors - hopefully better quality ones!
- Fitted a velcro strap on the roof/window to help prevent the window popping out at speed.

I was going to say, how do the windows stay put as they are frame less, the bmw e36 Khumo cup guys have a nice setup with metal rods rivoted to the top of the window to the door, to pull the window in.
