was rebuilding my engine....and broke a camshaft
any ideas how?..why?

pistons were all mid stroke...all the valves open fine...buckets were all springy..and i pulled all the caps down evenly.....
just the last tweek snapped it

torque settings wouldnt snap a cam.

Whats the brake look like any flaws in it.

done up tight up at one end, when tightening unevenly? or left lose?

still shouldnt snap a cam in half, its a very tough piece to break indeed. my guess is a hairline fracture, and you just toying with it has caused it to break. just bad timing i guess (no pun intended)

was rebuilding the engine with new followers......half pulled down, hadnt even started torquing yet...
i baught them 2nd hand soo i have no idea, they may have been slightly fractured

if i used the piper cam for the inlet (unbroken one) and the standard exhaust cam.....wouldnt that give me shiiite loads of torque??...or vice versa
