Who says you have to sit in with slippers on and a pipe.

I live with my Mrs, and have done for over two years. I don't feel as if i have settled down. If anything, it's better.

You can invite mates round and abide by your rules, no-one elses.

It's great.

cheers people for the comments.

I have to decide today whether to go ahead with the next stage of buying a house, which is getting a solicitor.

i just dont know if it will work. but it might.

anyway in 2 years you can sell up and make a profit right?? its not that your tied in for life.

really dont know if to go through with it or not, mind is all over the shop.

suppose its different circumstances for you as didn't move in with girlfriend. was seeing someone at the time but we were deffo not ready for that sort of commitment. we split nine months later so wise choice really.

this is what i think i am not ready for. the commitment with someone yet, i love her to bits like, but moving into a house is a huge step in a relationship

I was lucky I was in position to take on all the costs.

mate I know has moved in with his gf this year and even after five years together he was still unsure, worked out good for him so far.

Really depends can you afford to take it on yourself if the worst happens?

It's good but so's living at home and getting everything done for you

Once you've moved out you won't wana live with rent's again so you will be 'experiencing it' for the rest of your life thereafter most likely

Any particular reason, thought moving out would help that a bit?

I'm 22 and have lived with my missus since i was 20. As long as trust etc. is there and your relationship is stable i'd say go for it. You don't really sacrifice much providing your a one woman man Yeah i share a house but i still go out with my mates etc. as does the missus, plus you've always got someone to come home to which is nice. I'd never go back home. There's a lot of shared responsibility bills etc. but the pros outweigh the cons for me. From my experience i'd say go for it mate.

I would move out now and live with my girlfriend but not in a position to get a mortgage and renting seems like a waste of money.

I was in a very similar position to you 5 years ago, my missus wanted to buy our own place, whereas I was happy at home(Parents). In the end I decided to go for it and it turned out to be the best thing I've ever done. We've recenty sold our first home for a tidy profit and bought a lovely new place. If your still not sure why not try renting for a few months as suggested above.

Good Luck with it mate.
