will a 1.4 16v fit into my 8v sri? will it be straight swap?
and is the 1.4 8v sri mpi or spi?

The engine will fit in, you will probably need new mounts loom etc.
8v Sri is mpi.

i THINK you can use the 8v mounts
will have to change the wiring loom for the 16v one though

8 valve SRi's are soo much better than the 16v any way keep it!! mile more torque

Mate, dont swap your 1.4 8v for a 1.4 16v, the 8v's are miles better and quicker.

The 8v ones that are 75bhp compared to 90 bhp, and have less torque? Don't think so.

8v is 114Nm of torque, 16V is 125Nm

Its not all about power, its about the way the power is delivered. I'd rather drive the 16v at 80mph than the 8v any day.
