just rang up admiral and asked what the discount would be if i got a CAT 1 alarm and he said they dont discount for alarms not even if there CAT 1

alot of people ask for a CAT 1 alarm to be fitted to actually qualify for insurance in a first place.

ye i think its a market ploy, most insurance companies dont care if its cat1

For my insurance to be valid I had to present a certificate which shows I've had a Cat1 alarm fitted by a professional.

well you skimp and you'll pay for it in the long run

350 will get you a decent cat one fitted professionally

yeah was just wondering if there was a cheaper alternative so money could go elsewhere on the car.

alarm is worth its weight in gold. I can also give you the number of a good insurance broker if you are having problems with quotes.
