genuine is thin at the bottom where it meets the tailgate at the bottom of the rear window and the non-genuine ones are fat

yeah i see now, genuine seems to sit more flush to the roof height wise and is slimmer to the bootlid at the bottom. thanks guys...

Genuine is much better, I used to have an irmscher one with a brake light, that wasnt a great fit either
