crap road surfaces, frost & ice, salt everywhere..... so what changes do you make to your car now the cold weather is on its way? Or do you simply garage it up for winter and use a run around for the few months over xmas? Reason I ask is spent a good 3 hours cleaning the car this afternoon, not only did my hands feel numb afterwards with the cold, but started to wonder whats the point as no doubt it'll rain tomorrow and ruin all my hard work!

Im worried about grit on the roads. Seat paint is notoriously thin, and chips dead easy

need to clean and treat the bodywork regardless of the weather I thought

Personally I'll be putting more coolant in my water system, more oil in the engine (though thats an all year thing for 20xe owners ). Looking forward to the lack of grip and every road journey possibly being my last.

I'll be changing my suspension for ledas and possibly getting a diff too, thats my winter prep

Its very cold tonight, the Nova is garaged now though so she is tucked up warm, I sleep no more than 2 feet away from her.

ill be giving it a good wax or two and then carrying on as usaul, washing it everyday during the gritting period. the salt rots away in all the little nooks in the bodywork, plenty of jet washing helps

Il take the wheels off and clean and grease the coilover threads. May do it this weekend.

Clean it regularly and keep it polished so its easier to clean the next time

Wont bother checking anti freeze as Vauxhall should have done all that when it was serviced a couple of months ago.

But lots of screenwash aswell.

Think thats it.

I will mostly enjoy being able to spin the tyres up in snowy weather, and feel what it's like to drive a moderately powerful car the rest of the year
