Hellooooooooooo,

Only me

I want to set up myself as a limited company as I want to do IT contracting throughout my final year and when I graduate but I don't know where to start.

I want to do it as cheaply as possible because I will only be doing a few short term contracts for my previous employer (Barclays)

I don't know where to start, I know you will probably all say Google , but I know there are a few that have been in my position and I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks

James xxx

go to an accountant and they will do it all for you. Should cost about £200ish.

even better then, as most of that £200 is their fee so he will beable to do it fairly cheap for you.

nothing, just make sure you submit your returns each year to them and it'll remain active.

Suggestions for a company name then

Two companies in the same field that I have ties with are called Gap Consulting and Gum Technology.

I like those names so something similar, preferably ending in either Consulting, Technology or Developments

If there is only yourself James you are most likey better off not going limited and going Self Employed.

yes, sole trader is an easy way to set up and run in the short term. you can even pay tax using the normal PAYE route but I wouldnt reccomend it, far better off being self employed. I have been self employed for years, can claim tax rebates on so much you wouldnt have thought possible. u2u me if you need any SE advice
