1998 PORSCHE 911 2dr [996] Carrera Coupe
39,000 miles, White, Manual. Unique car factory ordered in Porsche clubsport white, Hard back sports seats, in black leather with white stitching. Colour coded interior, with high finish carbon and aluminium, Factory fitted GT3 body styling, GT3 racing spoiler, 6 cd interchanger, PCM1 Sat nav system Sports suspension, Short change sports gearbox, Sports exhaust, Factory fitted brake upgrade, ECU remap, Privacy glass Full Porsche service history. All geometry done by Porsche test drivers and technicians. As you can see from the list above, this is by no means your usual 911. It's race track looks and great sounding exhaust give it tremendous road presence and demand attention wherever it goes. This is a VERY reluctant sale but finances are needed elsewhere. It's the kind of car that you only ever come accross once. If you want the look of a GT3 RS but want to pay half the price then it really doesnt get any better than this. The combination of the short shift gear box, sports brakes and suspension really deliver a great drive. The GT3 classic 18" wheels look awesome with the drilled brake discs and red calipers. Visually and physically very pleasing. The rear tyres are perelli P0 Rossos. great grip in the wet etc. £31,200. ono

I agree with AK porker is the way to go

Tuscan i think is horrible something about it looks cheap, Exige love them but you can get better for that kind of money, M3 bit common now(i know there are loads of porkers around but 911 has class)

What about a DB7?

I had the exact same discussion with Vibrio lastnight.
I'm not looking to change my car yet though.

Noble, too "in your face".
Exige, practicality thrown out of window.
Porsche, for £25k, its not going to be the nicest one.
M3, reputation for being gangster-ish, and has gay exhaust note.
TVR, scared it might die, if not, then it might kill me.
Evo, not prestige enough.
Subaru, as above, plus you already have one.

Other cars i've looked at...
RS4, way out of budget
Merc AMG's, as above

Personally, i'm swaying towards an M3 convertible.
Have fun deciding

I would say TVR just for the sound; my next door neighbour had a race prep'd 5.00 Griffith; sounded fookin awsome.

What about an M Coupe; rarer than the m3 and faster than most things

i looked into Tuscans about 6months ago.

I was put off with rebuilds needed at 20k or so... suspension niggles (fitting nitrons)... coil packs.

Read up about them on Piston Heads TVR forum. Worthwhile, and honest opinions from Owners.... not folk like us/above.

A 25k 996 will not be a shiter! a 18-19k 996 will be a shiter!

On that note..... Mate bought a tuscan about 4 months ago. Loves it, thinks its a brute. Not very practical at all though.
Other mate bought an M3 with SMG box..... wants to sell it for a SC'd Exige

Yeah, I had a look round that forum too and was worried myself by the amount of people needing rebuilds on there!!! Probably looks the same to a newcomer on the P1 owners club to be fair tho!!!

Yeah, I was a intrigued by the Skyline statement too!!??? I think the R34 is awesome!! Have drove R32's, R33's and R34's, to be fair at all different levels of tune (the R32 was the fastest btw) The only thing that turns me off a Skyline is that I dont think they are that fast as standard (mainly down to their size!) and I dont really want to be modifying anymore!

Cheers guys

they are quick as standard.... I think its we just have a hightened perception.

Like good sex.... is it still good sex if you get it daily? Or do you get used to it?

A 34 GTR with mild mods (exhaust decat etc) running 400bhp will be plenty quick

different sort of quick to the P1, but still quick.

Yeah definitely!!! Think its the fact that its a heavier and safer car than the Subarus/Evos Im used to driving and a few mods on a Skyline nets massive power gains and a seriously fast car!!!

I like The R32 me, just cos as you say its the lightest and the rawest!!!

yup.... the GTR is a much bigger car than a rally tart. Gets up serious speed with less fuss.... so seems to be slower, when in reality i think its just easier!
