Which GSi is the best to go for. IS it the PRE-Ecotec or the Ecotec. Which engine model......As i'm after a GSi but want one that has the most potainal(sorry bad spelling) to tune.

Cheers fella. Take its the best to tune. I've got a few mods in my head already for when i buy one, just need to get rid of my Vectra now.......How much are good GSi's goin for these days. I've seen a couple for between £1500 and "2000.

If you plan on inlet mods though I wouldn't say there was a lot in it.

just go for the the best condition you can find, its really not worth worrying about the engines imo.

Yeah plan for an inlet mod. But just need to buy a GSi first.

Just wanted to know which was the best to tune for the most power and torque.

Agree with Adam, there are bigger things to consider when you are looking for a car of that age.

as said above really, you'll get similar performance from both if your tuning. You'd be hard pushed to find a good condition low mileage c16xe (pre-ecotec) Gsi.

i was lucky i got a pre ecotec from a old man who has it for 11 years with 82k on the clock so there are still some gd ones out there
